Bethlehem, PA Public Conduct: Public Alcohol Use (2026)

06(a) prohibits bringing in or consuming alcoholic beverages anywhere in a Bethlehem park except designated pavilions at Monocacy Park, Saucon Park and South Mountain Park. 06(a)(1) layers on restrictions: consumption is limited to people affiliated with the pavilion permittee (A); only malt or brewed beverages and wine are allowed, with distilled spirits and anything over 12% alcohol content banned (B); containers must be metallic with a maximum of sixteen ounces, or wine boxes, since bottles are prohibited outright (C); and drinking is barred in any parking lot, parking area, sidewalk, pedestrian path or roadway inside a park unless it falls under the Private Events Exception or Special Occasion Exception (D).

§ 5505. 06(a)(3) lets private events at Illick's Mill, the Earl E. Schaffer Ice Rink and the Charles Brown Ice House serve alcohol under a Director-approved permit agreement, so long as attendance is by invitation or ticket, the event stays closed to the public, and revenue benefits only nonprofit or charitable organizations. 09.
