Summary
Drinking beer, wine or any intoxicating beverage on a public street, sidewalk, alley, mall, plaza, parking lot, or bus or train depot in unincorporated Monterey County is prohibited under County Code Section 11.30.010, unless the location is covered by a permitted public event.
No person shall drink any beer, wine, or other intoxicating beverage on any public street, sidewalk, alley, shopping mall, plaza, parking lot, or bus or train depot in the unincorporated territory of the County of Monterey. This Chapter is not intended to make punishable any act or acts which are prohibited by any law of the State of California. This Chapter shall not apply to public events for which a permit or license to sell alcoholic beverages is granted; or for which a permit for the use of the street, sidewalk, alley, shopping mall, plaza, or parking lot is granted.
