Acworth, GA Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Item (18) of Section 58-3's list of 27 prohibited park acts, adopted by Ordinance No. ' It bars riding any of those devices in a city park except in areas posted for that use, separately bans grinding, defacing or damaging public property with them anywhere in the park, and bars operating them wherever signage specifically prohibits it. The rule sits alongside the article's definitions in Section 58-41, which defines 'skateboard' as 'a device for riding upon, usually while standing, consisting of an oblong piece of wood, plastic, or related material, which is mounted on skate wheels,' and the related traffic rules of Section 58-44, which cap speed at 15 miles per hour on park roads.

Acworth's code contains no general skateboarding restriction for downtown sidewalks, streets or business districts outside of city parks; the only citywide rule found in this Code is the park-specific restriction in Section 58-3(a)(18). Anyone violating the posted-area requirement can be ejected from the park by police, parks staff or a park attendant under Section 58-49, and the violation itself is punished under Section 58-3's closing penalty clause, which routes to the Code's general penalty at Section 1-11.
