Full Breakdown
Sec. 16-2 of the Racine County Code names nine specific county-owned properties -- the courthouse, law enforcement center, the Eighth Street/Lake Avenue lot, Racine County service center, Ives Grove office complex, sheriff's substation, Ridgewood, the county schools office building, western county service center and the Rochester public works facility -- where skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, roller skates and their motorized versions are off-limits. Bicycles and motorcycles are exempt only in designated areas. Each site's boundaries are separately defined in the ordinance so the ban tracks specific parcels, not the county at large.
Violations & Fines
Forfeiture of $10 to $50 per violation; a $5 stipulated forfeiture is available in lieu of a court appearance under Sec. 5-2.
