Clark County imposes strict STR noise limits under the 2024 ordinance. Quiet hours run 10 PM to 9 AM, outdoor amplified music is banned, and three complaints can revoke your license.
Clark County adopted a comprehensive short-term rental ordinance in 2024 (Title 7 Chapter 7.100) following Nevada AB 363 (2021) which authorized counties over 700,000 population to license and regulate STRs. STR properties in unincorporated Clark County must comply with general noise ordinance CCMC 14.12 plus heightened STR-specific standards. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM, stricter than the general residential 10 PM to 7 AM window. During quiet hours no amplified sound is permitted outdoors, voices must not be audible at the property line, and outdoor gatherings of more than eight people are prohibited on the property from 10 PM onward. Even during daytime hours, amplified outdoor music is not allowed at STRs and indoor amplified music must not be audible outside. Parties and large gatherings (weddings, bachelor/bachelorette events, corporate retreats) are banned at STR properties in most residential zones under the 2024 ordinance. Complaints go to Clark County Business License or Metro Police. Each substantiated complaint generates a Notice of Violation; three within a 12-month period can trigger license suspension or revocation. Fines start at 1,000 dollars per violation and escalate, with maximum penalties of 10,000 dollars per violation under the ordinance. Pool and hot tub use during quiet hours is also restricted.
First violation: 1,000 dollar fine plus Notice of Violation. Second: 5,000 dollar fine. Third: up to 10,000 dollars plus license revocation. Operating a party or special event at an STR: 20,000 dollar fine under the 2024 ordinance.
