Clayton County requires all parking for a short-term rental unit to be accommodated on the same lot as the unit. Guests may not use the street or neighboring property for rental parking.
Section 22-901(d) of the Clayton County Code states plainly that all parking for short-term rental units must be accommodated on the same lot as the unit. Because an STR must be inside or adjacent to the owner's occupied dwelling on the same property (Section 22-900), the on-site parking requirement applies to the whole parcel. The rule prevents guest vehicles from spilling onto public streets or a neighbor's property, a common friction point in the airport-adjacent Atlanta-metro market the county serves. Adequate on-lot parking is part of the compliance the county reviews, and failing to provide it can be raised in the building and fire code inspection or in a code-enforcement complaint. Incorporated cities in the county set their own STR
Failing to keep rental parking on the lot violates Section 22-901(d). Under Section 22-902, noncompliance with any article requirement is grounds for denial, suspension, or revocation of the permit, and Section 22-903 allows a cease-and-desist notice or injunction.
