Chatham County, GA Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Parking Rules (2026)

Section 16-1304(1)(g) makes parking rules part of the license application itself: each application must outline the parking rules of the rental and the manner in which any occupant must comply with those rules. Those same rules then have to be posted where renters will see them: §16-1303(1)(b) requires a sign inside the unit listing the parking rules, occupancy rate, any noise restrictions, emergency contact information and point of contact, and failing to post that sign can itself be grounds for license revocation under §16-1303(1)(c). Once the rules are set, the county holds renters to them: a property cited for exceeding the parking limitations listed in its own license application is punished by a fine of not less than $100 under §16-1310(1).

Parking is also one of the substantiated-complaint categories that can support license revocation or denial: §16-1308(1)(c)(i)(a) lists parking regulations associated with the license among the violations the County Manager can treat as grounds to revoke or deny a license, and repeated complaints of any kind, three or more, trigger a formal compliance investigation and possible 30-day suspension under §16-1307(1)(c). Chatham County Police responding to any parking or other complaint under this article must forward their report to BSRS, under §16-1310(4), tying enforcement directly back into the licensing file.
