Tarrant County cities require STRs to provide off-street parking based on bedroom count. Fort Worth and Arlington require at least 2 off-street spaces, with more added for larger rentals. Lawn parking is banned.
Short-term rental parking in Tarrant County is regulated by each city. Fort Worth STR Ordinance (City Code Chapter 7, Article IV) requires at least 2 off-street parking spaces for STRs up to 3 bedrooms, plus 1 additional space per bedroom beyond 3. On-street parking may be used if allowed but cannot block driveways, fire hydrants, or mailboxes. Arlington Ordinance 21-037 requires 2 off-street spaces minimum, plus 1 additional for every 2 bedrooms above 3. Grapevine STR rules require all guest vehicles on-property (no on-street overnight). Keller and Southlake require 1 off-street space per bedroom. Mansfield and Haltom City apply general residential parking rules. STRs cannot use lawns or front yards for parking in any Tarrant County city; only paved driveways and garages count. RVs, trailers, and boats brought by STR guests must fit in the driveway or garage and cannot be stored on the street. Unincorporated Tarrant County has no county parking ordinance for STRs.
Parking violations at STRs result in 200 to 500 dollar fines in Fort Worth and Arlington, plus potential tow-away at owner expense. Repeated parking complaints can lead to STR permit review and possible revocation. Blocking fire lanes is a higher-priority offense with fines up to 2,000 dollars.
