Owners apply on Department of Safety and Permits forms with a floor plan, evacuation plan, parking site plan, noise-abatement and sanitation plans, a signed attestation, and proof of a completed STR course. The department must deny any incomplete application.
The registration packet must give the name, age, and contact information of all owners, the property address, the total dwelling units on the lot, and the designated operator's details. Attachments include a floor plan showing bedrooms (marking the operator's reserved bedroom for non-commercial STRs), an evacuation plan, a parking site plan, a noise-abatement plan, and a sanitation plan. The owner attests to no outstanding taxes or liens, code compliance, working smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms, no conflicting HOA/covenant restrictions, and $1M liability insurance. Renewals require reporting prior-year taxes, nights rented, and nightly rates.
The department shall deny any application missing required information; misrepresentation in the attestation is grounds for suspension or revocation of the permit.
