Ceres, CA Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Under Ceres Municipal Code § 18.26.060(N), a resident may put up one sign to advertise a garage sale, but only after obtaining a garage sale permit through Chapter 5.18. The sign is capped at six square feet in area and six feet in height, and it can only be displayed at the sale location, and only during the specific dates and hours the sale is running: it isn't a set-it-and-forget-it yard sign. The underlying permit itself (Chapter 5.18) limits sales to three consecutive days and caps most residents at three garage sales per calendar year before a conditional use permit is required.
