002 for HOA-governed subdivisions. Unincorporated Bexar County does not regulate the content of political signs but follows state rules on right-of-way placement. Signs may not be placed in public rights-of-way, on utility poles, or within sight-distance triangles of intersections. 002 prohibits signs within the ROW. On private residential property, homeowners can post political signs at will, subject to HOA rules. 002, HOAs cannot prohibit political signs during the period beginning 90 days before an election and ending 10 days after. HOAs may impose reasonable restrictions on size (typically limited to 4 feet by 6 feet or smaller), number per candidate or issue, placement outside common areas, and condition (must be well-maintained).
