Fort Worth, TX Soliciting & Door-to-Door: No-Knock Registry (2026)

City Code § 20-145 sets the actual do-not-knock rules for door-to-door vendors registered under § 20-143. A vendor may not solicit at any residence or business that has posted a 'No Soliciting' or 'No Trespassing' sign, and may not return to a location where an occupant has verbally said no solicitation is allowed, regardless of any sign. m. during Daylight Saving Time, unless the occupant specifically requested the visit. These hour and sign restrictions sit alongside the registration requirement in § 20-143 and the disclosure requirements in § 20-144, and the stated purpose in § 20-141 is to protect residents' privacy during the times solicitation is most intrusive and disruptive, to curb aggressive or intimidating sales practices, and to help police deter fraud through registration.

The rule applies only to door-to-door vendors as defined in § 20-142: people who travel from door to door, house to house or place to place offering to sell or soliciting future-delivery orders for food, goods, services or merchandise. The current text was last amended by Ord. 21674-03-2015, adopted March 3, 2015, which rewrote the hours and sign provisions carried over from the prior itinerant-vendor rules.
