Anne Arundel County honors 'No Soliciting' signs posted at residences as legally enforceable. No formal county registry. Signs with state statute reference have strongest enforcement.
Anne Arundel County Code Article 7-8 makes it unlawful for commercial solicitors to approach a residence displaying a conspicuous 'No Soliciting' sign. Unlike some jurisdictions, Anne Arundel County does not maintain a formal no-knock registry β enforcement is sign-based. Signs should be visible from the public approach (front door, driveway entrance). Exempt from the sign rule: religious, political, and protected First Amendment speech canvassers. Solicitors licensed by the county receive notice that ignoring posted signs is a citation offense. Violations reported to Anne Arundel County Police non-emergency.
Ignoring sign: $100-$500 citation. Multiple violations: license revocation. Repeated: may be charged with trespass.
