Sioux City, IA Soliciting & Door-to-Door: No-Knock Registry (2026)

Beyond the licensing requirement, Sioux City Municipal Code § 4.56.080 sets hard limits on when and where door-to-door peddlers and solicitors may operate. They cannot work in defiance of a notice posted at a residence or business declaring peddlers or solicitors unwelcome, cannot solicit door-to-door before 9:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. on any weekday, and cannot solicit at all on Sundays or state/national holidays. They also cannot operate within 100 feet of a competing retailer's storefront on public property. A parallel notice-and-hours rule applies specifically to charitable solicitors under §§ 4.52.070 and 4.52.090.
