Separately, no peddler or solicitor may knock, ring a doorbell, or otherwise seek entry at any residence between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. standard time, or 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. during daylight saving time. Peddlers and solicitors must also hold a $40 principal permit and a $5 individual permit, carry photo ID, and honor any posted 'no soliciting,' 'no peddlers' or 'no trespassing' notice.
Violations & Fines
Knocking despite a posted no-soliciting decal, or soliciting outside permitted hours, is punishable by a fine up to $1,000, or $500 per day for a continuing violation.
