Each license lists the issue and expiration dates, the licensee's name and address, and a photograph, and the licensee must carry and visibly display it at every point of contact with the public.

The license runs for one year, costs $50 annually, and can be revoked at the clerk's discretion for any violation. Violating the section carries a $100 fine per violation and can trigger revocation if the person holds a valid license at the time. The requirement exempts anyone soliciting for charitable purposes, including schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or children's sports leagues.
