Full Breakdown
San Benito County Code § 19.27.033 authorizes the Public Works Director to place barricades on or within county roads, parking facilities, sidewalks, or other public rights-of-way, and to take other action needed to cordon off the route or site of an event authorized under Chapter 19.27's parade/public gathering permit, including temporarily closing the affected county roads or property. The director may also post the route or site as a no-parking zone in advance of and during the event. There's no freestanding block-party permit; a neighborhood street closure runs through the same parade/public gathering permit process at § 19.27.027 before Public Works implements the closure. Applies only to county roads outside Hollister and San Juan Bautista.
Violations & Fines
Closing or barricading a county road for a private gathering without the underlying event permit violates Chapter 19.27, separate from any traffic-obstruction offense under the Vehicle Code.
