Full Breakdown

The Tehama County Planning Department requires a special event permit under Chapter 13.12 for any parade, procession, or organized assembly expected to draw 500 or more people in the unincorporated county. Applications covering a parade must state the assembly time, staging point, route, spacing between units, and the number and type of floats or vehicles (§13.12.040(B)(12)). Applications must be filed 90 days to one year ahead of the event, or just 3 business days for expressive-activity events. Fees run $100 to apply plus $150 per event day (§13.12.050). This chapter governs only unincorporated Tehama County; Red Bluff, Corning, and the City of Tehama each administer their own permit process.

Violations & Fines

Holding an unpermitted special event, or violating permit conditions, is a misdemeanor punishable by up to $1,000 and six months in county jail, with each day a separate offense (§13.12.110).
