Grays Harbor County, WA Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Grays Harbor County Code Section 12.12.110 lets the county, through the administrator of Grays Harbor County Park, reserve park areas or facilities for a specific organized event once an individual, group, or organization submits a specific written request. The county or administrator can charge rental fees for using the park and its facilities and may require a performance bond and adequate liability insurance coverage, with the exact amount and conditions set by the administrator based on the type of event planned; a large public gathering can be held to different bonding and insurance terms than a small private reservation.

Section 12.12.100 separately requires prior county permission before anyone sells or rents a product or service inside the park, so an event that includes vendors, concessions, or paid activities needs that additional sign-off on top of the facility reservation. The administrator of the park is the director of the Grays Harbor County fair and pavilion department under Section 12.12.020, the office event organizers deal with for both reservations and concession approval. Section 12.12.130 lets the county or administrator waive other sections of the park use ordinance, such as the alcohol or vehicle rules, for a specific organized event upon written request, so an approved reservation can also be the vehicle for obtaining those waivers.

Violations of the reservation and concession rules fall under the general park penalty in Section 12.12.120(B): a civil fine of fifty dollars payable to the county.
