Georgia Tobacco 21 Age Restrictions Statewide

Under Title 16, Chapter 12, Article 8, Georgia prohibits furnishing tobacco, tobacco-related objects, vapor products, or alternative nicotine products to persons under age 21. Retailers must check identification for any purchaser appearing under the age of 27 (or as further specified by rule). Penalties escalate for repeat violations. Persons under 21 may not purchase or attempt to purchase such products, and false identification can result in additional penalties. The statute applies statewide and preempts inconsistent local age-of-sale rules.
