New Hampshire Tobacco 21 Age Restriction Law

New Hampshire raised the legal sales age for tobacco and vapor products to 21 effective January 1, 2020, aligning with federal Tobacco 21. RSA 126-K:4 makes it unlawful to sell, give, or otherwise distribute tobacco products, e-cigarettes, or liquid nicotine to anyone under 21. Retailers must check government-issued photo identification for buyers who appear under 27. RSA 126-K:6 prohibits possession by persons under 21. Enforcement falls to local police and the liquor commission.

Civil fines up to $250 for first violations and increasing penalties for repeats; retailers risk license suspension under RSA 126-K:7.
