Oklahoma Concealed Carry Permit and Constitutional Carry

Oklahoma adopted constitutional carry effective November 2019, allowing eligible residents 21 and older (18 for military) to carry concealed or openly without a permit. The Oklahoma Self-Defense Act license remains available for reciprocity with other states and certain background-check exemptions. Carry is prohibited in schools, government buildings posted as off-limits, courthouses, and establishments where alcohol is the primary product. Federal disqualifications still apply, including felony convictions and domestic violence findings. Local governments cannot impose stricter requirements due to state preemption.

Carrying in prohibited locations, carrying while intoxicated, or carrying despite a federal or state disqualification can result in criminal penalties.
