Wyoming Concealed Carry Permit and Permitless Carry

W.S. 6-8-104 authorizes the Wyoming Attorney General to issue concealed firearm permits on a shall-issue basis to qualified applicants who complete an approved training course, pass background checks, and meet residency and age requirements. Wyoming residents who otherwise qualify may carry concealed without a permit under the state's permitless carry framework. Permits remain useful for reciprocity when traveling and for purchase exemptions. Carry remains prohibited in courtrooms, public schools, government meetings, and any place where federal law forbids firearms.

Carrying concealed in a prohibited location or by a person ineligible under state or federal law is a misdemeanor punishable by fines, jail time, and forfeiture of carry privileges; subsequent violations may be charged as felonies.
