EMC 15.05.470(M) sets the swimming pool permit fee on a sliding scale by size: $30.00 for a pool under 24 feet in diameter, $50.00 for one 24 feet or larger, and $150.00 for a commercial pool. The permit sits inside the same building-and-construction fee schedule that covers every other structure in the City, and it works alongside Title 5.70's contractor-licensing rule, which defines a 'swimming pool contractor' as the only person qualified to excavate, construct, fabricate, install, and equip a pool. Once installed, a pool over two feet deep must also meet Evansville's separate zoning rule requiring a six-foot impassable fence, EMC 18.130.060(B).
