Roll carts and other containers must be at the curb before 6:00 a.m. on your collection day but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the night before, placed at least three feet from mailboxes or other obstacles. Carts must be removed from the curb by 6:00 a.m. the day after service.
Sec. 118-104.C.6 governs set-out: garbage roll carts, recycling roll carts, curbside and bear-resistant containers, yard-trash containers and non-containerized curbside waste must be placed curbside before 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day, but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day prior, and at least three feet from mailboxes or other obstacles so the automated arm can reach them. Customers must remove the carts and bins from the curb by 6:00 a.m. the day after service is completed. Carts and containers may not be overfilled so that lids cannot fully close (Sec. 118-104.C.13).
Improper set-out and overfilled carts are enforced under Chapter 118; overfilled commercial containers can be fined. Solid-waste violations are prosecuted under FS 125.69 (Sec. 118-108), with each day a separate offense.
