Roll your tipper cart to the curb no sooner than 4 p.m. the day before collection, and bring it back in by noon the day after. Carts left out between pickups are a code violation in unincorporated Jefferson Parish.
Chapter 16 sets exact set-out and take-in times so carts don't sit at the curb. The cart may not be placed out for collection any sooner than 4 p.m. on the day preceding your regular collection day. Emptied containers must be removed from the curb by noon on the day immediately following the collection day. Carts should be placed with wheels toward the house and lid closed, kept a few feet from mailboxes and parked cars so the automated truck arm can reach them. Storing the cart at the curb or setting it out a day early draws a Code Compliance notice. These placement rules apply to the parish-provided tipper carts in the unincorporated parish.
Code Compliance citation for early set-out or leaving carts at the curb; repeat offenses can bring fines.
