In unincorporated Sarasota County, carts must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on collection day, set out no earlier than 5:00 p.m. the day before, and returned to storage by 10:00 a.m. the next day (Sec. 106-47).
Sec. 106-47(a) sets container timing for the Solid Waste Service District. Curbside containers, recycling containers, and other residential waste must be placed curbside by 6:00 a.m. of the designated collection day, and not placed at the curb earlier than 5:00 p.m. of the day prior. All emptied containers must be returned to proper storage on the premises no later than 10:00 a.m. the day after collection. Containers must be kept reasonably clean. Recycling containers may sit off-premises or in the right-of-way only when the Executive Director authorizes it and they do not obstruct the right-of-way.
Non-compliant placement is enforced by Code Enforcement; carts left out beyond the storage deadline can be cited.
