Town Code Chapter 47A regulates container placement. Residents may set out containers no earlier than 5 PM on the day before scheduled collection. Empty containers must be removed from the curb by 6 PM on the collection day. Between pickups, containers must be stored in side or rear yards and screened from public view. Containers cannot block sidewalks, fire hydrants, or obstruct sight lines at intersections.
First offense: written warning. Subsequent: 50-250 dollars per violation. Chronic violations may be cited under property maintenance code.
