Henrico County, VA Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Henrico County Code § 17-59 governs oversized-item disposal. Under § 17-59(a) the county contracts with a third party to collect residential bulky waste such as discarded appliances, television sets, furniture, brush, and bagged leaves, under rules the county manager prescribes and at the rate set in the third-party contract. Section 17-59(b) provides vacuum leaf collection at $50 for the first stop at each residential address per calendar year, $50 for the second stop at the same address that year, and $100 for each subsequent stop. Qualifying elderly or disabled residents who receive tax relief under Chapter 20 pay no charge (§ 17-59(c)). Residents may also self-haul directly to the county household refuse disposal areas (Springfield Road and Charles City Road)
