Republic Services offers each Daly City single-family customer one free on-call bulky goods collection per calendar year. Schedule by calling (650) 756-1130.
Daly City franchise terms with Republic Services include one complimentary on-call bulky goods pickup per single-family account per calendar year. Customers contact Republic at (650) 756-1130 or InfoDalyCity@RepublicServices.com to schedule a date. On pickup day, the resident may choose ONE of two formats: (a) multiple bags, boxes, or bundles of garbage, clothing, yard trimmings, and similar items, OR (b) up to two large bulky items, each not exceeding 200 pounds and 3 feet by 6 feet. Acceptable large items include household appliances ('white goods' such as refrigerators, washers, dryers — Freon-containing units are accepted with proper handling), mattresses and box springs, and consumer electronics (e-waste). Items must be set at the curb by the scheduled collection time and may not block sidewalks, fire hydrants, or driveways. Additional bulky pickups beyond the free annual one are available for a fee. Hazardous materials (paints, solvents, motor oil, batteries) are NOT accepted in bulky pickup and must instead be brought to the San Mateo County Household Hazardous Waste program drop-off events.
Setting out bulky items at the curb without scheduling a pickup is treated as illegal dumping under Chapter 8.32 and may result in administrative citations starting at $1,000 for a first illegal-dumping violation. Hazardous waste mixed into bulky pickup is rejected and may trigger code-enforcement follow-up.
