Section 25-1925(1) describes the "1-1-1" residential service: pick-up of bulky waste with garbage collection, and special pick-up of other bulky waste, white goods and E-waste to be arranged. Section 25-1938(1) puts numbers on it. On request the franchised contractor must schedule the pickup within three working days, excluding Sundays and holidays, unlimited as to quantity, size and weight, with no additional cost, service charge, fee or tax. Items go at the curb and cannot include vehicles, hazardous waste or liquid waste; bulky waste or white goods must be disassembled if possible. Bulky waste is defined as solid waste weighing more than 50 pounds.

Violations & Fines

Receptacles and debris put at the curb more than 24 hours before collection, or left there more than 48 hours after, violate Section 25-1938(1) and are prosecuted under Section 25-1942. Dumping instead carries litter penalties starting at $50.
