Full Breakdown
Every habitable property in Roswell must pay the city for garbage and solid-waste service; the fee becomes a charge against the property, per Sec. 24.2.3. The City of Roswell, not a private contractor, collects household garbage, recycling and yard waste under Sec. 24.2.2, and issues no collection permits to private companies unless the city itself cannot provide the service. Curbside garbage collection runs once weekly, per Sec. 24.2.5(c), with an optional premium second-container service available for an added fee set by mayor and council.
Violations & Fines
Unpaid collection fees trigger late fees and penalties set by council resolution, and continued delinquency becomes a lien against the property under the city charter (Sec. 24.2.4).
