Any dumpster or construction material stored in the right-of-way for only one day during daylight hours, which does not obstruct traffic or sight distances and does not damage any of the features of the right-of-way (pavement, drainage, culverts, grass, grading or etcetera) will not require a permit.

Sec. Violations & Fines
A dumpster or material pile placed without the required permit, or left beyond the one-day daylight exception, is a violation of Sec. 8-17-4-2 and draws the same $250-per-day inspection fee set in subsection (e)(14), payable to the Highway Department within 14 days. Nonpayment blocks all future permits and sends the case to the Hamilton County Prosecutor under Sec. 8-17-5-1; the county engineer may waive the fee for a first offense.
