Full Breakdown
The prohibition on dumping garbage, refuse, or rubbish on public parks, roads, highways, or private property without the owner's consent comes from state law, but the Board of County Commissioners backs it with a local reward: at least $10, and up to 50 percent of any court-imposed fine, paid to whoever supplies information leading to an arrest and conviction. The board funds the payouts from the county's fine and forfeiture fund.
Violations & Fines
Illegal dumping is prosecuted under state litter law in county court; convictions can trigger both a court fine and, for the tipster who reported it, a county reward of up to 50% of that fine.
