Full Breakdown
Jackson County's 1994 trespassing ordinance makes it unlawful to litter county public property as defined by Mississippi's littering statutes, and specifically bars putting, throwing, dumping or leaving cans, bottles, jars, glassware, broken glass, paper or boxes on county-owned property. The offense is punishable up to the maximum fine set by Miss. Code Ann. §§ 97-15-29 and 97-15-31. A parallel 1995 provision applies the same ban to the joint Ocean Springs facilities (Fort Maurepas, Inner Harbor Park, the beaches and boat ramps). This covers county (and named Ocean Springs) public property only, not private land or roadside dumping generally.
Violations & Fines
Subject to the maximum fine established by Miss. Code Ann. §§ 97-15-29 and 97-15-31, plus citation or other prosecution as provided by law.
