Jefferson Parish collects containerized household garbage twice per week from the parish-provided tipper cart. Recycling and bulky waste are collected once per week on your designated day. Garbage must be bagged and placed inside the cart.
Under Chapter 16 (Garbage and Other Solid Waste), the parish provides curbside collection to residential structures of four units or fewer in the unincorporated parish. Household garbage is collected twice per week and must be bagged and placed within the parish-issued 95-gallon tipper cart; loose waste at the curb isn't collected. Recycling and bulky/large-item waste are collected once per week on your scheduled collection day, which varies between the East Bank and West Bank. The Department of Environmental Affairs oversees collection and the parish-owned landfill. Residents can look up their collection days on the parish's Find Your Garbage Days tool.
Improperly set-out or non-containerized waste may be left uncollected and cited by Code Compliance.
