Yuba County, CA Tree Protection: Parkway Planting (2026)

Yuba County Code § 11.24.030(a)(1) requires all front and street-side yard setback areas on new residential development to be landscaped, with at least one deciduous street tree from the county's approved tree list planted per 40 lineal feet of street frontage. Where a detached sidewalk is built, the tree and landscaping go in the strip between the sidewalk and curb. The rule applies inside the valley growth boundary in unincorporated Yuba County: it does not reach Marysville or Wheatland, which administer their own codes, and rural agricultural land outside the growth boundary follows the separate Section 11.24.040 standard instead.
