41, Firearms and Weapons, in the section governing air guns. 140 to include air guns, air pistols, air rifles, BB guns, and toy guns of any kind designed, modified, or used to propel a pellet, dart, arrow, bean, pea, BB, paintball, rock, or other hard substance more than twenty-five feet with enough force to break windows or injure people or animals. 150(a)(4), it is unlawful for anyone to point or shoot such a device in the direction of, or within range to kill, injure, or disturb, any nongame bird, harmless bird, or songbird, regardless of the shooter's age.

The prohibition sits alongside companion rules in the same section barring minors under eighteen from carrying or shooting air guns unsupervised, barring parents from giving air guns to children except under supervision, and barring merchants from selling air guns to minors. 150(b) allows adults over eighteen to use such a weapon when reasonably necessary for defense of person or property, but that exception applies only to the person-and-property-damage clause, not the bird-protection clause. 170 sets the penalty: anyone convicted of violating the air gun provisions is guilty of a misdemeanor, and the weapon used in the violation is confiscated by the court.

080(a) bars anyone inside a city park from teasing, throwing objects at, injuring, or killing any animal, bird, or fowl by any means, reinforcing the same protection specifically within park boundaries.
