030 makes it unlawful and a public nuisance to keep any animal, rooster, or other noisy fowl that unreasonably disturbs the neighborhood's peace and comfort. The city's official FAQ states flatly that roosters are not allowed and that barnyard animals such as pot-bellied pigs, goats, and sheep are not allowed in residential zones. 020(H)) lists only dogs, cats, and horses as keepable animals; chickens are not a listed permitted use, and horses require large lots (23,000 square feet for the first horse, three-horse maximum) with 40-foot and 100-foot stable setbacks.

020 permits poultry and rabbit raising plus grazing animals, limited to two horses, goats, sheep, cows, or similar animals on lots under one acre (one more per additional half acre), a five-hog maximum, and animal buildings set back 40 feet from on-site dwellings and 70 feet from neighboring residences, parks, or schools. 240 makes any zoning violation involving animals a violation of the animal code as well.
