Hillsborough County Code §38-26 requires all domestic animals to be restrained at all times at a distance of not greater than 6 feet from their owner/handler when off the owner's property, and §6-28 prohibits animals running at large on public property.
Leash, cord, chain, cage, fence, or other restraint must be of sufficient strength to contain the animal. Brandon residents must leash dogs at all parks except posted off-leash areas. Citations are issued by Pet Resources / Animal Services.
