010 bans keeping or permitting to be kept any wild or exotic animal on a person's premises for any purpose. 010 as one belonging to a species not native to the United States, or a hybrid between a domestic animal and a non-native species, while 'wild animal' covers any animal that isn't domestic, aside from small nonpoisonous aquatic or amphibious animals and a short list of caged birds. 020 adds a specific reptile blacklist regardless of the general wild-animal ban: any federally endangered or threatened reptile, any venomous front- or rear-fanged reptile, any python species that naturally exceeds twelve feet, all crocodilians including alligators and caimans, monitor lizards, anacondas, any reptile species native to Indiana, and any reptile otherwise protected by state or federal law.

Both bans exempt zoological parks, circuses, animal exhibitions, research laboratories registered under the federal Laboratory Animal Welfare Act, licensed wildlife rehabilitators, and wildlife educators holding all necessary federal or state licenses and permits. 56's civil penalty schedule.
