California Code of Regulations Β§671 (via CDFW) prohibits ferrets and hedgehogs statewide. Long Beach Animal Care Services also enforces city-level exotic animal restrictions. Dangerous exotic animals (large cats, primates, venomous reptiles) require state permits and are effectively prohibited in residential settings.
