Sec. 3-137 is one of the UDC's specific-use provisions, the set of rules that attach extra standards to uses beyond the base dimensional requirements of the zoning district. For veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, and pet care facilities, the extra standard is a single, flat 100-foot setback: no building or structure housing the use can sit closer than 100 feet to any property line. 3-137 does not vary the distance by adjoining land use or zoning district; the 100-foot line applies to every property line around the site. The section does not separately address outdoor kennel runs, animal waste handling, or noise, so a veterinary use that also boards animals outdoors may need to satisfy Chapter 8's animal-control provisions or a kennel-specific UDC section in addition to the Sec. 3-137 setback. Because the requirement is written into the specific-use provisions of Article 3, it applies in every zoning district where a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or pet care use is otherwise allowed, and it is enforced as part of the site plan and building permit review by Jackson County's Department of Public Development before construction begins.
