' The prohibition sits in the same list as training an animal to fight, cruelty to an animal, and allowing an animal to become a nuisance to surrounding properties, showing the Village treats attracting or sustaining wildlife and strays as part of the same nuisance-control scheme rather than a separate wildlife ordinance. Because the ban covers wild animals broadly as well as stray cats and dogs, it reaches backyard feeding of deer, geese, raccoons or other wildlife in addition to leaving food out for a stray cat colony.

The chapter's WILD ANIMAL definition in § 100-1 sweeps in 'any living member of the animal kingdom, including those born or raised in captivity,' with narrow carve-outs for domestic dogs and cats, ferrets, rodents and captive-bred cage birds, so the feeding ban applies to essentially any non-exempt wild species found in the village.
