Boca Raton's Trash & Recycling: The Rules That Matter

Collection Schedule

Boca Raton requires every dwelling unit to use city solid waste collection under Section 14-3, covering single-family homes, duplexes, and multi-family buildings, with fees billed to the owner or HOA.

Yard Waste Collection

Boca Raton collects grass clippings, palm fronds, and tree branches as "vegetative waste" under Chapter 14, but the material must be set out on the swale at the paved right-of-way edge and stay within size and weight limits.

Illegal Dumping

Boca Raton bans creating or running any landfill or dump within the city and prohibits placing solid waste on streets, rights-of-way, storm drains, canals, lakes, or other property. Boca Raton requires residents on automated collection to use only the city-issued roll-out cart, placed off the street within 3 feet of the curb and at least 3 feet from any obstruction, under Section 14-6.
