Full Breakdown

City Code § 95.16 makes it unlawful to operate a boarding home for children, day care nursery, children's home, or child caring institution in Fort Wayne without a child care provider certified in pediatric CPR on duty at all times. Certification must be renewed annually under § 95.17, and the current card or diploma must be displayed at the facility's main entrance under § 95.18. The Fort Wayne-Allen County Board of Health investigates complaints, issues a written Notice of Violation giving the operator 14 days to show proof that at least half the staff is certified, and inspects the facility if no proof arrives, under § 95.19. The rule exempts state-run institutions and licensed public or private schools.

Violations & Fines

Violating §§ 95.16-95.19 draws a $25 fine payable to the City Clerk, with each day of noncompliance treated as a separate offense.
