Full Breakdown
Sec. 18-146 adopts the current edition of the National Electrical Code, as amended, as Cobb County's electrical code, subject to the exceptions and modifications elsewhere in Article IV. The county administers it under sections 101 through 112 and 114 through 116 of the International Building Code's administrative chapter, and Sec. 18-27 separately requires a permit, obtained through the development and inspections division, before any electrical construction or alteration begins.
Violations & Fines
Doing electrical work without the required permit violates Sec. 18-27(a) and can draw the Code's general Sec. 1-10 penalty plus the added late-permitting fee under Sec. 18-122.
