Antioch, CA Building Safety: Green Building Code (2026)

01 adopts the 2022 California Green Building Standards Code, published by the California Department of Housing and Community Development's Division of Codes and Standards, as adopted and amended by the California Building Standards Commission in Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations. The city keeps copies on file in the offices of the Building Official, the same office that administers every other Title 8 code. The chapter has been amended repeatedly since its first adoption: Ordinance 2045-C-S (2010), 2073-C-S (2013), 2122-C-S (2017), 2175-C-S (2020), and 2226-C-S (2023) each updated the reference to track the state's triennial code cycle.

Antioch does not layer a separate local green-building chapter or numeric add-on onto the state minimums the way it does for plumbing's earthquake shutoff-valve rule; CALGreen's mandatory measures apply as the state adopted them. 01(A), which makes it unlawful to violate any provision of any code adopted by reference by this code and classifies the violation as a misdemeanor unless the City Attorney reduces it to an infraction. 06 directs that the fee actually charged is whatever the city's Master Fee Resolution sets, not a dollar figure printed in the state code.
