Converse, TX Building Safety: Plumbing Permits (2026)

The City of Converse has adopted the International Code Council (ICC), 2024 editions of the International Building Code, Existing Building Code, Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code, Residential Code for One- and Two-family Dwellings, Fuel Gas Code, Property Maintenance Code, Fire Code, Wildland Urban Interface Code, Energy Conservation Code, and Swimming Pool and Spa Code, and the 2023 edition of the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) National Electrical Code. Collectively these codes, as adopted and amended, are known as the City of Converse Technical Construction Codes and are known individually as the City of Converse Building Code, Existing Building Code, Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code, Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings, Fuel Gas Code, Property Maintenance Code, Fire Code, Electric Code, Wildland Urban Interface Code, Energy Conservation Code, and Swimming Pool and Spa Code.(c)Appendices of the codes referenced in (b) are hereby adopted.(d)Copies of the international codes are on file at the office of the building official.(e)All construction within the city limits of Converse shall comply with the City of Converse Technical Construction Codes. It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the city or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of the codes adopted herein and this chapter.
