Brevard County's Land Development Regulations set a flat 35-foot maximum height of structures in every standard single-family residential classification (RU-1-13, RU-1-11, RU-1-9 and RU-1-7). Height is measured from the average finished development grade to the flat roof's top or, on hip/gabled roofs, to the highest bearing point of the trusses. Attached single-family classifications (RA-2-4 through RA-2-10) run higher, up to 45 feet where the property abuts multifamily or commercial zoning, but structures over 35 feet must satisfy the added conditions in § 62-2101.5. This applies only to unincorporated Brevard. Palm Bay, Melbourne, Titusville, Cocoa and the other Space Coast cities set their own residential height caps.
